A three-story medical office addition built above an existing and occupied hospice facility. Given the sensitive nature of the building’s use, a strategic logistics plan was implemented to minimize disruption to employees, residents and visitors.

Each room has access to natural light, access to the outside, showers and pull-out beds for guests. The new structure utilized geothermal HVAC systems to ensure environmental sustainability, and the project achieved LEED Gold Certification. In addition, Building Information Modeling (BIM) was used to coordinate new HVAC tie-in to the existing system.
