Sustainable – or Green – building is a methodology that increases the efficiency in the way that buildings use resources. Green buildings can offer many environmental, economical and health and safety benefits, including the conservation of energy and natural resources, lower operating costs, and a healthier environment for building occupants.
Building for Today & Tomorrow
Valenti Builders is committed to providing our clients with the necessary construction resources to ensure successful completion of their sustainable projects. We are an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council on both the national and local levels. Many of our employees are LEED AP’s who can develop and execute the strategies, standards, and practices necessary for sustainable construction.
Completing a LEED Certified Project
At the start of the project, Valenti Builders works closely with clients to review the requirements for achieving their desired level of certification. In addition to our budget, schedule and quality goals, we carefully analyze the use of sustainable materials, improved energy consumption and many other factors that are integral to a sustainable project.
The Valenti LEED project team also examines ways to reduce environmental impacts on the job site and surrounding community. We explore procedures to promote recycling and reduce waste, along with opportunities to improve the building’s energy performance and project materials. Early planning, which is done on both LEED and non-LEED projects, identifies eco-friendly materials to be used at each stage of construction.
Throughout the project Valenti Builders carefully monitors construction processes and resources to ensure LEED Certification. Seemingly simple decisions made by workers or supervisors – from selection of sealants and adhesives to the use of renewable materials – can have a major impact on sustainability.
These informed decisions help to ensure a healthy, adaptable and efficient building that meets today’s needs without compromising its usefulness for future generations.
